Luther College has appointed Rose Baldwin as its new associate director of programming and outreach, placing her in charge of the Center for Faith and Life box office and event operations in Decorah.
Vice President of Communication Bill Smith announced Baldwin’s appointment Aug. 4, 2026. In her new role, she will serve as box office manager and oversee operations during shows and special events. Her work will connect her with audiences attending Luther’s Center Stage Series, Homecoming and Family Weekend programs.
A new role at the Center for Faith and Life
Baldwin’s first day on the Luther campus was July 27. The college said she is expected to become a familiar presence for both campus community members and visitors who attend performances and other programs at the Center for Faith and Life.
“Rose brings a positive energy and a commitment to outstanding customer service in the Center for Faith and Life. In the coming weeks, we’re looking forward to our Luther community, both on and off campus, meeting and working with Rose. She’ll soon be a familiar face for Center Stage Series season subscribers and those attending Homecoming and Family Weekend,” Smith said.
Smith added, “We’re grateful to have Rose as a member of our team.”
Background in music education
Before joining Luther, Baldwin taught middle and high school choir at the Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia. During that time, she worked to increase participation and retention in the choral program, significantly increasing enrollment and building engagement within the school community.
Under Baldwin’s direction, the Lovett choirs took part in adjudicated performances for the first time in more than a decade and consistently received sweepstakes ratings during her tenure.
Her earlier experience includes serving as associate director of choirs at Burnett Junior High School in Wylie, Texas. That choral program served more than 450 students. Baldwin also taught elementary music in Lindsay, Texas.
She graduated summa cum laude from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in music education.
Leadership transition at Luther
Baldwin’s appointment comes as Bradley Phillips, Luther’s former assistant director for programming and outreach, prepares to retire at the end of August after 37 years of service to the college.
The transition also comes as Luther promotes its upcoming 2026-27 Center Stage Series. Season tickets are available through tickets.luther.edu, while individual ticket sales are scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 10.
For Decorah residents and visitors, Baldwin’s responsibilities will place her at a key point of contact for ticketing, performances and special events hosted through Luther’s Center for Faith and Life.
