Vesterheim will welcome Luther College families to its Decorah campus during Luther College Family Weekend 2026 on Saturday, September 19, giving eligible visitors a chance to explore the museum and join guided tours.
The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission will be free for Luther students, faculty and staff, as well as Vesterheim museum members.
What visitors can see
Visitors can explore Vesterheim’s collection, which the event listing says began at Luther in 1877. The museum also invites guests to stop by Vesterheim Commons during the day.

- Museum Building tour: 11 a.m.
- Heritage Park tour: 1:30 p.m.
The event will take place at the Vesterheim Campus in Decorah. The museum’s Family Weekend schedule gives Luther-connected visitors and members a free-admission opportunity while offering a closer look at the campus’s exhibits and heritage spaces.
