Residents of Decorah and northeast Iowa will have a new season of concerts, comedy, acrobatics and theater to choose from when Luther College’s 2026-27 Center Stage Series begins in September. The schedule includes seven main-stage performances at the Center for Faith and Life, a subscriber-only bonus opportunity featuring Cantus, and an April celebration of the venue’s 50th anniversary.
Season tickets are available now through tickets.luther.edu. Individual tickets go on sale Monday, Aug. 10. Patrons who buy season tickets before Tuesday, Sept. 15, can purchase a reduced-price guaranteed ticket to Cantus on Jan. 10, 2027, during Luther’s Dorian Vocal Festival.
2026-27 Center Stage performances
The series opens with Broadway’s Next Hit Musical at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12. The improvisational performance uses audience suggestions to create an evening of spontaneous music and comedy, with audience members voting on a favorite song before the cast turns it into an improvised musical.
Seraph Brass performs at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30. The ensemble, now in its 12th season, highlights women brass players and performs original transcriptions, newly commissioned works and classical pieces. Its members also emphasize music education, with several holding faculty positions at Shenandoah Conservatory, Texas State University and Texas Lutheran University.
On Nov. 15, Gravity and Other Myths brings its acrobatic production 10,000 Hours to Decorah at 7 p.m. The performance uses a live soundtrack and explores the intensive practice behind highly skilled movement.
The subscriber bonus performance, Cantus, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 10. The nationally recognized male a cappella ensemble includes two Luther graduates and will work with high school students during the Dorian Vocal Festival. Public ticket availability beyond subscribers is expected to be limited.
American Patchwork Quartet performs at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12, blending American folk songs with jazz, country, West African and East Asian influences. Excelsis Percussion follows at 7 p.m. March 7, with a program ranging from classical to avant-garde music and featuring both traditional and unconventional instruments.
The season concludes at 7:30 p.m. April 17 with Grand and Glorious: An Evening Celebrating 50 Years of the Center for Faith and Life. The event will feature Luther community performers, memories from the venue’s history and birthday cake.
Subscriber benefits and family programming
Season subscribers receive priority seating, waived ticketing fees and 15% off all shows. They also receive the reduced-price guaranteed Cantus ticket and the first opportunity to renew their seats each year. Current subscribers must respond by Sept. 15 to retain or select new seats.

The Center Stage Series will also offer school matinees for young audiences and families. The Magic School Bus – Lost in the Solar System will be presented at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 17. The Boy Who Cried Wolf is scheduled for the same times March 16.

Dinner option at the Center for Faith and Life
The Center Stage Dinner Series offers a gourmet three-course meal before each show in the Peace Dining Room, which overlooks Luther’s lower campus and the Upper Iowa River. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and menus will be posted two weeks before the related performances. Luther chefs can accommodate dietary restrictions when notified in advance.
All performances take place at the Center for Faith and Life, 700 College Drive, Decorah. Ticket-office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 7 p.m. Thursday. On show days, the office remains open from 9 a.m. until the performance; Saturday hours begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the performance.
