A 32-year-old Decorah man was arrested after police responded to a reported disturbance at Pizza Ranch on Oct. 3, according to LA Communications News.

Officers were called to the Decorah restaurant at approximately 5:09 p.m. in response to a report of a disturbance caused by an aggravated male. When officers arrived, they learned the man had left the scene. They later contacted Ronald Olivier II in a residential area.

Witnesses identified Olivier as the man who had caused the disturbance at Pizza Ranch. Police also reported that Olivier had his 3-year-old daughter with him and was responsible for caring for her both when the disturbance occurred and when officers made contact with him.

Charges filed

According to the report, officers obtained evidence of Olivier’s impairment due to intoxication. He was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication under Iowa Criminal Code chapter 123.46, a simple misdemeanor, and child endangerment while intoxicated under Iowa Criminal Code chapter 726.6(8), an aggravated misdemeanor.

Olivier was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.

Potential penalties

If found guilty, the reported penalties for the listed charges include up to 30 days in jail and a fine of $105 to $855 for a simple misdemeanor. The aggravated misdemeanor charge carries up to two years in prison and a mandatory fine of $855 to $8,540, according to the report.

Arrested parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
