Decorah residents will be able to buy tickets for Luther College’s 2026 Christmas at Luther performances beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. The annual holiday production will bring hundreds of student-musicians to the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall for performances scheduled Dec. 3-6.

Limited in-person tickets will be available through tickets.luther.edu and at the Luther Ticket Office. Audiences who cannot attend in person will have additional ways to watch, including an unlimited livestream of the Sunday, Dec. 6, performance and a later on-demand video option.

What to know about the Decorah performances

Christmas at Luther 2026 is built around the theme “Let Us All Rejoice and Sing!” Timothy Peter, the performance’s artistic director, said the program is intended to create an evening centered on joy, celebration and community at Luther’s Center for Faith and Life.

“The 2026 theme is a reflection of Luther College’s renowned spirit of community where all people are warmly welcomed,” Peter said. “While we recognize the holiday season can be challenging and melancholy for some, I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to gather and experience an evening of joy.”

The 2026 participating ensembles are Nordic Choir, Collegiate Chorale, Cathedral Choir, Norskkor, Aurora and the Symphony Orchestra. Luther said the program will include well-known Christmas melodies, carols and hymns, with students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, family and the broader Decorah community invited to take part in the singing.

Peter described the production as a “sonic ‘surround sound’ atmosphere” that also emphasizes the event’s longstanding community tradition.

“The program features some of our most beloved Christmas melodies sung in a sonic ‘surround sound’ atmosphere while embracing the sense of community with ‘all’ of us — students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, family and the broader Decorah community — singing beautiful carols and hymns together which historically has been a trademark of Christmas at Luther,” Peter said.
